Exhibition on “Human Cost of Terrorism” at the National Museum of Korean Democracy on 24–25 March 2026.

Embassy of India, Seoul Hosts Digital Exhibition on “Human Cost of Terrorism”                                   

  1. The Embassy of India, Seoul, in association with the Korea Democracy Foundation, hosted a two-day digital exhibition titled “Human Cost of Terrorism” at the National Museum of Korean Democracy on 24–25 March 2026. The exhibition was inaugurated on 24 March 2026 by Mr. Lee Jae-oh, President, Korea Democracy Foundation (KDF); H.E. Mr. Gourangalal Das, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea (ROK); and Ms. Kim Jae-won, Hon’ble Member of the National Assembly.
  2. Mr. Lee Jae-oh in his welcome remarks underscored the symbolic significance of the venue, noting that a site once associated with the denial of freedom and human rights now stands as a reminder of the enduring value of democracy and human dignity. He emphasized that democracy is sustained through sacrifice and solidarity, and called for continued collective efforts to ensure that such tragedies are never repeated.
  3. In his keynote address, Ambassador Gourangalal Das highlighted the shared democratic values underpinning the India–Republic of Korea Special Strategic Partnership. He emphasized that terrorism remains a global threat to peace and stability and democracies like India and the ROK have the extra responsibility to speak out against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He underlined that perpetrators, organizers, and financiers of terror acts must all be held accountable and called for a coordinated, resolute and global response.
  4. Ms. Kim Jae-won, Member of the National Assembly during her special address highlighted the importance of cultural cooperation in promoting shared humanitarian values. She expressed hope that India and the ROK would continue to work together to advance peace, democratic principles, and cultural understanding.
  5. Over the two days the exhibition saw participation of the people from diverse fields including journalists, civil society representatives and government officials. The digital exhibition aims to fosters greater awareness of the universal nature of terrorism and reinforces the importance of international cooperation in combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

주한 인도대사관, “Human Cost of Terrorism”을 주제로 디지털 전시 개최

1. 주한 인도대사관은 민주화운동기념사업회와 함께 “Human Cost of Terrorism”을 주제로 민주화운동기념관에서 2026 3 24~25일 양일간 디지털 전시회를 개최하였다이재오 민주화운동기념사업회 이사장과 고랑랄 다스 대사국회 김재원 의원이 전시회를 개회하였다

2. 이재오 이사장은 전시가 열리고 있는 민주화운동기념관의 상징성을 강조하였다과거 자유와 인권을 억압하던 공간이 이제는 굳건한 민주주의적 가치와 인간의 존엄성을 기억하는 공간으로 변모하였다는 점을 강조하였다이 이사장은 희생과 연대를 통해 민주주의를 지켜낼 수 있었으며공동의 노력을 지속하여 과거의 비극이 다시는 반복되지 않아야 한다고 강조하였다.

3. 고랑랄 다스 주한 인도대사는 기조 연설에서 민주적 가치가 인도-한국 특별 전략적 동반자 관계의 기반이 된다는 점을 강조하였다테러리즘은 여전히 평화와 안정을 위협하는 국제적 위협이라는 점을 상기하고인도와 대한민국과 같은 민주주의 국가가 모든 형태와 양상의 테러리즘에 맞서 목소리를 내야  더욱  책임감이 있음을 강조하였다테러 행위의 실행자기획자자금 제공자는 반드시 책임을 물어야 한다는 점을 이야기하고조직화되고 결연하며 세계적인 대응이 필요하다고 촉구하였다.

4. 김재원 의원은 특별 연설을 통해 공동의 인도주의적 가치 증진을 위해 문화적 협력이 중요하다는 점을 강조하였다김 의원은 인도와 대한민국이 지속적으로 협력하여 평화민주적 원칙문화 이해도를 높일 수 있기를 바란다고 하였다.

5. 이틀간 열린 전시에는 언론인시민 사회 관계자정부 관계자 등 각계각층의 인사가 발걸음하였다이번 디지털 전시는 세계 어디에서든 일어날 수 있는 테러리즘에 대한 인식을 높이고모든 형태와 양상의 테러리즘에 맞서 싸우기 위하여 국제 협력이 중요함을 강조하는 계기가 되었다.
